Pipetechs Plumbing Technologies has a strong focus on keeping our technicians well trained with the most recent plumbing technologies. Pipetechs recruits the top plumbing technicians around the triangle area, and we keep them well trained.
Mario’s Elite Technician Training
Mario’s Elite Technician Training Program is designed to keep our top technicians performing at their best. Each Elite Technician will train through many topic levels, starting from Intro to Basic Plumbing, to the more complex areas of plumbing.
Safety training
Pipetechs Plumbing Technologies is serious about our safety. We keep our team well trained for job site safety, fire safety, risk management, and how to drive safe and courteous on the way to and from job sites.
ELITE TECHNICIAN TRAINING PROGRAM OUTLINE
1. Introduction Classes at Durham Tech **
a) PLU-111: Intro to Basic Plumbing
b) PLU-3024B Plumbing - Level I
c) PLU-3024C Plumbing - Level II
2. Well Seal Certification Course by PHCC
a) One Night, 2-hour course
3. NC Plumbing Exam Prep Courses – 3 day weekend courses
a) Technical Training Institute – Raleigh b) Grady Harlow Inc. – Raleigh
4. Wake Tech Plumbing Diploma and Certificate
a) Will take 1-2 years to complete, about 4 semesters b) Cost is per course
5. OSHA Online Safety Training – General Industry & Construction
a) 10-hour General Industry b) 30-hour General Industry c) 10-hour Construction d) 30-hour Construction
6. Backflow Certification Courses and Orientations a) One certification program must be selected at one of the approved training schools: -Raleigh, Durham, Charlotte, Greenville, or Welcome (NCRWA) -Multiple certification course offerings can be found at NCRWA website; https://northcarolinawaterncassoc.wliinc32.com/Training/Backflow_Cross_Connection_Training.aspx b) An orientation course is required for specific cities as well in order to test there -Raleigh and Durham both require orientation courses -Durham is $50, and Raleigh is $25 -If certification course is taken with either Raleigh or Durham; that city’s orientation will be included in the cost of the course.

Smith University a) All certification courses are free – online and in person (training facility is in TN) b) Online Courses Include: -Residential Certification (multiple PDF’s and videos – longest of 3) -Heat Pump Certification (very short, only (1) 7 min video and then exam) -Tankless Workshop (videos and exam, roughly 2.5 hours) c) These online courses include PDF’s and videos to review; you will then take an exam at the end and if you pass with a 70% or better you can email in for your official certification.
d) Multiple on campus (Ashland City, TN) programs offered; ranging from 1 to 4 days as well.
